Warwickshire, has been the home of the Lucy family since 1247, and the present house was built in 1558. The house was vigorously renovated in 1830s, and only the two-storey gatehouse remained untouched Elizabethan being now a museum. A remarkable piece of furniture is the colossal ‘Charlecote buffet’, carved by J.M.Willcox with figures of the resources of nature and bought in 1858 for £1,600.
